Orientation Script - Livestream Events
We've hosted a number of livestream events in Gradual and use a version of the script below to orient event attendees to the community, event agenda and the functions of Gradual.
Use portions of this script at kick-off when you're welcoming attendees to your virtual event.

Where are you now? Welcome to our community! This is our home for our events, content, and interaction with one another. We're inside one of those events now and you're likely looking at the live view. This view is the main stage where all of our content will take place. On the top right you'll see that it says Stage 1. If you click on that you can select between the different stages that we have. The stage will show whether or not it's live and what's coming up next, so you’re sure to not miss any upcoming content. How to view agenda & schedule To see what's coming up you can head to the agenda on the left hand side. This is where you can see all of the upcoming sessions as well as how you'll join live Q&As, matching, or other activities. You can select the different stages from the menu at the top to see what's coming up across each stage or you can select the grid view to see what's happening concurrently. Completing your profile In order to join roundtables as well as participate in the chat you need to make sure your profile is complete. If you don't see it in the top right, there's a notification asking you to complete your profile or you can click on your avatar and click ‘edit profile’. There, you can complete all the required profile questions and save. You’ll want to make sure you do this in order to chat with others as well as participate in our interactive sessions. How to join Q&As and Roundtables We’ll host Q&A's after our speaking sessions. These can be found within the agenda. You'll simply click ‘join’ to participate. Again, make sure that your profile is complete, in order to join. We’ll also hold Roundtable sessions where you can connect with other participants on common topics. These can be found in the roundtable menu on the left or you can find the Roundtables block in the agenda, which will take you there as well. How to connect with folks 1:1 Another way to connect with others is through one-on-one matching. Throughout the day today you'll have the opportunity to network with other attendees either via the agenda or through the match menu on the left hand side. Click ‘join match’ and you'll be put into a queue then paired with another attendee for a quick chat. After 10-minutes you can choose to extend the call, or head back into the waiting space for a new match. You can see who you've connected with in your match histories at any time. Partners and Sponsors In the ‘solution’ section you can find links to our sponsor booths. Within each booth there are live chats, videos, resources, and other opportunities to engage with our sponsors. Be sure to explore each of the sponsors’ booths to see what they have to offer.
