Tags
Tags are used to group content, events and Forum posts by topic, and aid your members in finding similar content when consuming Forum posts, videos, blogs, resources, or searching for events.
Adding Tags
Creating community tags allows an easier way to group your content so members can see like- items and gives members an idea of topics discussed in an event.
- Sign into your dashboard and select Tags from the left hand side menu
- Select the +New Tag button in the upper right, and enter the tag name
- Keep it short and sweet as it appears as a one or two word hashtag
- Select the Event or Content piece you'd like to add tag(s) to
- On the right hand side, there is a field entry for Tags - select a relevant tag from the drop-down menu, or create a new one by typing in the name and then 'enter' to submit the new tag
Using Tags
In the community, all tags associated with content pieces or events will populate by the title.
Forum Posts
On the Forum page, tags are hyperlinked for users to find more posts that are tagged as such. A poster can tag up to three topics to their post to relate it to other discussions.
Events
On the Events page, tags are listed in the drop-down on the right-hand side for users to select and filter events by topic tags.
💡 Pro Tip: The URL will update when you select a Tag from the drop-down menu on the front end of the community (shown above). Use that URL to drive traffic to a specific group of tagged events.
Here is an example of finding the link to all events tagged ‘Marketing’ and then to all events tagged ‘Marketing’ that are upcoming:
Content
On content pieces, tags are hyperlinked for users to find more content that is tagged as such.
Popular tags, or topics also populate on the right-hand side of the content page, to allow members to select topics (tags) they're interested in.
💡 Pro Tip: Use tags to create a URL that shows all content or events using that tag - you can find that URL link from within your dashboard
