Canceling an Event

If you want to cancel an event entirely, it's best to follow these steps to remove the event from your event page, and ensure registrants cannot access the event environment day-of.

Unpublish the event
    • This will remove the event from the front end of your community
    • This will stop all automated emails from sending
    • This will NOT remove the Google Calendar invite from registrants' calendars
      • If you'd like to leave the event unpublished, but remove the calendar invite from appearing on attendees' calendars, sign into the Google Calendar and delete the event from that calendar.

Export attendees
    • Follow these steps to export registrants from the Attendees tab
    • It's important to do this BEFORE deleting the event as all attendee information will be lost from the dashboard when deleting

Delete the event
    • Follow these steps to delete the event entirely from the dashboard
    • This will remove the Google Calendar invite from registrants' calendars
    • No automated notification or email will be sent to registrants

Optional: Send notification to all registrants that the event is being canceled
    • Using the exported attendee list, communicate the cancellation via your email provider or communication system
