Setting up your community
Updated over a month ago

We are passionate about community building at Gradual and want to make sure you have enough knowledge to get your community set up in the most engaging and interactive way. Loading all of your content and growing your community is easy and our help center guides will walk you through how to leverage all the features in Gradual.

Within the Gradual dashboard, the best place to start is in the Settings tab; found at the base of the main menu on the left-hand side. In Settings you can personalize the look and feel of your space and user experience.

Edit community settings like name, description and branding in the Community tab.

Customize the main color, and pages or banners in your community in the Customization menu item.

In URL redirection, you can direct people to certain websites and URLs within the community, or even outside the space, to drive traffic to certain videos, content, or promotions.

Also, customize the experience for folks when they find your community, and sign up through the Sign-Up Settings tab.

Lastly, the System Settings tab allows you to edit the email addresses that send and receive correspondences from your community and provides overarching configurations on disabling direct messaging in the community and within events.

Next, we recommend loading up at least one blog, video and starting a channel - to get the wheels turning on the different ways to share content and increase engagement.

Here are the step by step instructions and videos to load those features:

Next, we suggest creating an event - even if it is just for practice! Here is the step-by-step instructions and video on creating your first event: Creating an event.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip: Building an ongoing roundtable is a great way to allow users to engage with each other in your community right off the bat.

If you'd like to add any other users as admins to your dashboard, you must first make sure they're in the Members list and them you can grant them access through the Permissions tab. Here is a video walking you through that invite.

There is a help button available on the dashboard in the upper right, next to your avatar icon, where you can find additional articles and reach out for help if you need it:
