Event Settings

An overview of the event settings tab and the different items you can configure inside of it.

The Event Settings tab allows you to configure how users join, interact with, and experience events. Settings can be customized by event type, giving you flexibility across meetings, webinars, livestreams, 1:1 match events, and hybrid events.

Onboarding Requirements

Control whether attendees must complete onboarding steps before joining or interacting with events. You can require users to complete their profile before they are allowed to join or engage with an event through Chat, Q&A, and Polls.

  • Requirements can be configured per event type

  • Use the toggle controls to:

    • Require profile completion before joining or interacting

    • Allow access without profile completion, if onboarding is optional

Default Member Type Requirement for Registration

Community admins can configure which member types are eligible to register by default for each event type. This helps create consistent registration rules for future events while still allowing flexibility at the event level.

Important notes

  • Each event type must include at least one allowed member type

  • Default settings apply only to future events

  • Event-level settings can override the default configuration

Online Event Interactions

Manage how attendees can participate during online events. Use toggles to enable or disable specific interaction features within events.

Raise Hand (Webinars)

  • Enable Raise Hand to allow attendees to signal they want to speak

  • Hosts can promote attendees to the stage for live audio or video participation

Breakout Rooms (Webinars)

  • Enable Breakout Rooms to split attendees into smaller discussion groups

  • Ideal for workshops, networking, or collaborative sessions

Noise Cancellation

Noise Cancellation is available for all communities and is on by default. When enabled, members will see the noise cancellation control when they join the meeting room and can turn noise cancellation on or off during the meeting.

To disable noise cancellation for an event, turn off the Noise Cancellation toggle in Event Settings. When this setting is off, the noise cancellation control will not appear in the meeting room.

Noise cancellation applies to meeting events, roundtables, webinars, 1:1 matches, livestream meeting rooms, and sponsor booths. It is not available in Safari or on mobile web.

Turning this setting on or off does not change sessions that are already running. The change applies the next time a member joins.

Live Captions

Control live captioning availability to improve accessibility and engagement. Live captions can be toggled on or off depending on the event type:

  • Meeting Events

  • Webinar Events

  • Livestream and Hybrid Events
