1:1 Matching: Instructions for Attendees
Match Event: Instructions
This is a step-by-step guide to help attendees of a 1:1 Match event navigate the 1:1 matching experience.
This event has no streaming video or meeting room, it is simply an event where members match with others throughout.
Note: 1:1 matching within the event is only supported on a laptop or computer browser and is not mobile-friendly.
Here are the steps:
- Access the event landing page.
- Select the Join Event button to enter the event.
- Select Get Started.
- Confirm your microphone and video settings and select the Join Now button.
- If there is another member available to match:
- The system will show a potential match and populate the member’s name, profile picture, role, and company.
- If interested in meeting with this member over video:
- Select the Join Video Call button.
- You'll have 30 seconds to join the video call, and the other member has 30 seconds to join as well. You will join a video call with the other member that is set for 10 minutes.
- You may leave at any time, or extend the call if it is going well.
- If you are not interested in joining the video call with that member:
- Do not select Join Video Call and it will not match you (they will not be informed) and you will be put back into the queue for the next available member.
- If there is no other available member:
- A "Working on the magic" page will pop up while the system searches for an available match.
- This page will show you the remaining waiting time (up to 1 hour).
- You can leave this page and the system will notify you when an available match is found. If you want to navigate back to this page at any time, you select Match from the main menu on the left.
- If you no longer wish to match with another member, you can select Cancel from this page.
Helpful Information:
- There is a chat box in each match session and that chat language will be accessible to you (and your match mate) after the call.
- If you decline a match with a suggested member, they will not be informed of that.
- You will not match again with a previous match.
- You can find your match history by selecting ‘History’ on the right-hand side menu.

Livestream Event: Template script for host
Here is a template script to walk attendees through the 1:1 matching experience from a livestream lens.
How to connect with folks 1:1
Throughout the day today, you'll have the opportunity to network with other attendees through one-on-one matching. This feature connects you with another event attendee, at random, for a quick video call.
You can participate in this 1:1 networking at any time from the 'Match' tab on the left, or via the agenda. When you are ready to participate, you will navigate to the 'Match' tab and select the 'Join Match' button. Note that you must be logged in on a laptop or computer browser to engage over video in 'Match'. We also suggest you use Google Chrome or Safari browsers for the best experience.
Once you have configured your camera and microphone, you will be put in a queue until another attendee has joined. The system pairs you at random for a quick chat, and will not pair you with someone you have already met with during this event. Each party must approve the match, but if you decline a match with a suggested member, they will not be informed.
Each call is set at 10 minutes, and after 10 minutes you can choose to extend the call or head back into the waiting space for a new match. You can also end the call at any time if you'd like to meet other attendees over video.
Any chat messages from your matches can be found in your 'Messages' tab both within the event and from the community homepage. You can also see who you've connected with in your 'Match histories' at any time.
If you experience any issues jump back into the 'Live' tab and drop your note in the chat, or reach our team from the 'Help' tab on the left.
