Preparing for an in-person event or hybrid event
Gradual offers solutions for registration and automated event reminders ahead of in-person & hybrid events, and can also elevate your check-in experience and attendee engagement with complimentary mobile apps.

Check-in preparations
Decide what the attendee check-in experience will look like at your event. You can simply check each attendee into the event using the dashboard, or set up self-service kiosks for them to check in, and print name badges using the Gradual Check-In app.
If opting for the kiosk experience, ensure you have all hardware (iPad(s), label printer(s) and badges) ordered and you've downloaded & installed the app from the Apple App Store on any iPads that will be used to check attendees in.
Event mobile app
Gradual offers an event mobile app to elevate your larger in-person events and engage your attendees. Feature your agenda and speakers and provide a native scheduler for attendees to network and meet fellow attendees for one-on-one meetings.
The Gradual Go app must be enabled and customized for the event, so reach out to the Gradual team if you'd like to use it.

Gradual Check-In app settings
There are two settings you can configure ahead of fully setting up at the event: badge templates and terms and conditions agreement customization.
- There are a few badge templates to choose from in the app that pull from your attendees' profiles and community branding. Decide which template is best for your event here.
- If you'd like your attendees to agree to terms and policies when they check into an in-person event, you can enable that feature in the dashboard by following these steps.
Gradual Check-In setup
- Ensure you have all hardware (iPad(s), label printer(s) and badges) and they are fully functional and charged.
- Download and install the app from the Apple App Store on all iPads that will check attendees into the event - we recommend checking to see if there are any recent updates to the app to ensure you're using the most up-to-date version.
Automated email reminders
- There are a number of automated emails that Gradual can send automatically for you - a 24 hour event reminder, and a survey link email
- Audit that those emails are enabled, or disabled (due to preference) and build a survey form to link in the post-event survey email.
In-App Notifications
- Pre-load any announcements you plan on sending during the event in the event dashboard → Notifications
- These announcements cannot be scheduled ahead of time, but it will save you time and energy to draft them in the dashboard and then send them in real-time during the event
Day of
Gradual Check-In setup
- Ensure all hardware (iPad(s), label printer(s) and badges) and are fully charged or connected to power.
- Make any final adjustments to the settings configured in the Check-In app on the iPad like badge templates, terms agreements, if you'll accept guest check-ins and printer configurations.

💡Pro Tip: Print your staff's badges as test badges to make sure you've chosen the right template, terms, and policies appear accurately, and the printer is correctly configured.
Check in attendees
Welcome your attendees and check them into the event from the dashboard or kiosk set up using Gradual Check-In app.
