There is a variety of labels you can give your event attendees that appear on their profiles in the live event. Making changes to these labels can be a great way to differentiate who's an attendee, a speaker, or a member of your staff.
The label 'Speaker' appears in the member's event profile.
The majority of these types are just labels, and won't change anything about their access, capabilities, etc. in the event. The only exceptions are those labeled 'Guest' who are restricted from some event elements - learn more about Guests below.
Edit Attendee Type
All attendee types are editable from the Attendee's profile in the event dashboard. Select the drop-down in the upper right-hand side and change the label.
You can update the attendees' types in bulk by following these steps.
Labels
Attendee
Event registrants are automatically given the label 'Attendee' if they are set as a Standard or Limited Approval member at the community level. This will likely be all, if not the majority of your event registrants and attendees.
Those marked 'Attendee' are the only members shown on the event landing page (front end) if Attendee visibility is enabled from the dashboard. Staff, Speaker, Guest, etc. are not shown in the list.
Guest
Across the platform, those marked 'Guest' have controlled access to member and event engagement.
Guests are not visible (their profile) to others, so others cannot message them, or see them in the People tab. However, they can see others on the platform and within the event. Guests cannot message other event attendees, and cannot enter messages in the chat or in Q&A.
If a member is marked 'Guest' at the community level, they will automatically be registered as a Guest in the event.
Speaker, Host, Staff, Sponsor, Press
These labels do not affect the member and their access, capabilities, etc. in the event but will change the label in their profile.
Those with these labels will NOT appear on the front end, in the attendee list but will appear in the People tab.
Featured Attendees
Customize the order your attendees appear on the event landing page & virtual ticket page by featuring those you want to list to the top.
This feature is available to all admins and event collaborators at all levels.
Feature attendee(s)
From the Attendee list in the event dashboard, select the edit button in the far right of the attendee's row. Select 'Feature Attendee' and confirm with 'Yes'. A star icon will appear in the top right of the avatar of the featured attendee(s) and this action will move them to the Featured tab in the dashboard. On the front end, this will automatically sort them to be first in the attendee list on the event landing page and virtual ticket page.
Re-order your attendees
Drag and drop the attendees from the Featured tab to the order you'd like for them to appear on the event landing page on the front end.
Note: You can only feature 30 attendees, and canceling registration on a featured attendee will remove them from the attendee list and event entirely.
