Event Page Privacy: Unlisted Events
Updated over a week ago

Set the event landing page's privacy to 'unlisted' so events are only accessible by the direct event link, and do not appear on the front end: on the event page or on the home page, but users can register for the event, and receive all automated confirmations, reminders, and calendar invites.

Attendees can register for an event no matter if it is published, unpublished or unlisted. The Event Link found in the dashboard leads to a live event landing page where members can access the event and register.

Set the Event Page Privacy

  1. Log into your dashboard, and build the event, or navigate to the event from the event list

  2. Select the 'General Info' tab and navigate to 'Advanced Settings'

  3. Select the box 'This is an unlisted event' under 'Event Page Privacy'

Event Link & Registration

Attendees can register for an event it is published, unpublished or unlisted.

Event Link

The Event Link found in the dashboard leads to a live event landing page where members can access the event and register. Unlisted events are only accessible via the direct event link, or the early event access link for testing.

Registration

Users will register for the event by navigating to the event link, and selecting 'Register' from the landing page.

Once they are registered, the event will also show on 'My Schedule' in the users' community profile, but will not appear on the home page or event page.

Automated Emails & Calendar invites

All registrants to an unlisted event will receive automated event emails like confirmation, reminders, and survey link emails if enabled. If the Google calendar integration is also enabled, registrants will receive calendar invites to hold the time on their calendars automatically.

Unpublished Events vs. Unlisted Events

Unlisting is a new event setting and was built to replace admins from keeping an event 'unpublished' to hide it from the front end.

When building an event in Gradual, the event remains unpublished and hidden from the front end of your community until you 'Publish' it. Keeping an event unpublished allows you to keep it in draft form until it is complete, or keep it hidden from most members, and sent to only a select group through the Event Link.

Attendees can register for an event no matter if it is published, unpublished or unlisted.

If an event is left unpublished, it will not appear on the front end and is only accessible by the direct Event link. Registrants will not receive any automated emails and the Google calendar integration will not invite them to a calendar event if an event remains unpublished.
