Community Event Photo Albums
Updated over a month ago

Upload photos and gifs from your events and community activities to albums, and allow members and event attendees to easily view and download the memories from your community events and meet-ups.

This feature must be enabled to upload photos and build albums. Reach out to the Gradual Team if this would be a great solution for your community.

Members' Experience

Members can browse photos from the event landing pages, or the community albums page ahead of the event, or after it has ended.

They can click into photos to see them full screen, and download any they would love to save.

Albums appear in the order set in the dashboard by default, and members can sort albums by most recently updated, or by photo count.

💡Pro Tip: Have your members agree to have their photo taken at events & shared, by uploading a photo release statement agreement in your check-in process, using Gradual's check-in app.

Album Access & Visibility

Each album will follow the access levels and the visibility setting in the Photos tab within the event dashboard:

Access Levels

Visitors to the community can view and download photos if the event is Public (not set to 'All Members' or space-restricted) and the community is open.

  • If the event is limited access to Members only, only those who are logged in will be able to see the album and the photos within.

  • If the event is space-restricted, only those in the space will be able to see the album and the photos within.

Visibility

If the visibility is toggled 'on' in the event dashboard, the album is visible at the community level - no matter if the event is published or not.

Event Photos

Showcase all the engaging activities and familiar faces of your community through event photos on the event landing page, and within the community albums menu tab.

Add Photos

Add photos from within the event dashboard, from the Photos tab.

  1. Select the +Add Photos button

  2. Select the +Add Photos button within the pop up, select your photo(s) from your computer

All photos must be in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format, be less than 15MB in size.

  3. Select Upload Photos to load the photos selected into this album

4. All photos will show in the order in which you load them (unless you feature certain photos to be shown first), but you can drag and drop the photos to the order in which you want them to be displayed from this page in the dashboard

You can add up to 6 GB of photos to the event album

Feature Photos

If there are a few photos you'd like to feature, or have shown first in the set, you can feature them from the dashboard.

  1. Select the photo and click the star in the upper right-hand side

  2. Or, hover over the photo and click the star in the upper right-hand side

3. To reverse this action, you will follow the steps above to un-feature it.

Delete Photos

Delete photos from the album from the dashboard, in the Photos tab.

Delete one photo

Select the photo you'd like to delete and a photo page will pop up. Click the trash icon in the upper right-hand side of the photo page to delete it.

Delete multiple photos

Hover over the photo(s) you'd like to delete and a small circle icon will appear in the upper left of the photo to select. Select the photo(s) you'd like to delete, click the Bulk delete button in the upper right of the page and confirm your deletion.

Hide Event Photos

If you'd like to hide the album from community members on the front end, simply toggle the visibility off in the dashboard.

If the visibility is toggled 'on' in the event dashboard, the album is visible at the community level - no matter if the event is published or not.

Toggling the visibility off within the event will also hide it on the community albums page.

Community Albums

All event photos will compile into your community albums, and be accessible from the main menu in the community.

Customize Albums Menu Item

If you'd like to change the name 'Albums' to something else, you can customize that titling in the dashboard, in Albums. Simply select the Settings button in the upper right, and enter the preferred title (max of 10 characters).

This will change the menu item on the front end, and the title within:

Re-sort Albums

If you'd like the community albums to show in a certain order you will navigate to the Albums tab in your dashboard and drag and drop to the preferred order.

On the front end, Albums appear in the order set in the dashboard by default, and members can sort albums by most recently updated, or by photo count.

Hide Albums

You can choose to hide certain albums from the community albums tab in the dashboard but toggling the visibility off in line with the album.

Toggling the visibility off in the Community Albums will also hide it on the event landing page as well.

If you'd like to hide the entire community album menu item from the community, you will toggle the 'Enable Community Albums' off in the Settings of this page. This will remove the menu item and the community albums tab from the front end, but will not hide the photo albums from showing within each event.

Album Access

Each album will follow the access levels set in the event dashboard. If an event is limited access to members-only, only those who are logged in will be able to see the album and if the event is space-restricted, only those in the space will be able to see the album and the photos within.

Visitors to the community can view and download photos if the event is Public (not set to 'All Members' or space-restricted) and the community is open.
