By default, events and content created within a club are only visible from the club page, not from the main community pages. If you want an event or content piece to appear at both the club and community level, you can promote it to the community level. In communities where the promotion reminder setting is enabled, club admins and club managers will also be prompted to make this choice during publishing.
Promote to the community level
If you want the asset to appear both in the club and at the community level (on the homepage, events page, or content page), you can promote it from within the club dashboard. If your community has the promotion reminder enabled, you can also choose to promote the item during publishing. For events, this allows all community members to view the event.
For Public clubs, any user may register for the event (assuming they have the necessary membership type). Registering for the event will also add them as a member of the club.
For private clubs, users must join the club before registering for the event.
To promote an item manually from the club dashboard:
Select the event or content piece you’d like to promote
Click the Action button in the upper right-hand side of the page
From the dropdown, select Promote to the community level
If the promotion reminder is enabled for events or content in your community, you may also see this option when publishing, scheduling, or choosing Publish Now for a scheduled item.
Now the event or content piece will appear within the club and at the community level on the homepage, content page, or events page.
The promotion reminder only appears during publishing actions. It does not appear when editing an item that is already published.
Secret and not visible club events and content cannot be promoted to the community level, so the promotion option will not appear for those items.
Enable promotion reminder
To enable promotion reminder:
Go to Club Settings in the dashboard.
In Club Settings, find Club Promotion Reminder.
Choose to turn on the toggle for Events or Content.
Demote from the community level
If you want the reverse this and only show the event or content within the club, you can demote from the community level.
Select the event or content piece you'd like to promote
Click the Action button in the upper right hand side of the page
From the drop down select 'Demote from the community' from the drop down
Deny Promotion
As a dashboard admin, you can deny club admins from being able to promote events and content to the community level. This removes the promotion option anywhere it would otherwise appear, including during publishing when the promotion reminder is enabled.
Move to the Community level
Dashboard admins can now move events that were created at the community level to the club by following these steps.
