Community Translation

How to use our translation feature to translate your community to different languages.

Gradual’s region and language feature allows members to translate the front-end community experience into their preferred language. This feature must first be enabled by the Gradual support team, please reach out to [email protected] to discuss getting this turned on for your community.

Set Default Community Languages

Once the feature is enabled, admins can see which languages are available and control if user generated content is translated or not. These settings are found in the Dashboard > Settings > Community.

Change Language in the Front-End Community

At login members can select their language in the bottom right hand corner:

Inside the community, members can update their language preference directly from the community:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the community.

  2. Scroll down to Region and Language Settings.

  3. Select a language from the list in the popup to translate the platform.

What Gets Translated

  • All default navigation tabs and platform features are automatically translated.

  • Some user-generated content can also be translated, but this does not happen by default. It must first be enabled in the dashboard, then members must click the Translate button on individual pieces of content to view the translated version.
