Clubs: Add Members

Import, add manually or encourage users to sign up to become club members

Updated yesterday

You can add members to clubs via the dashboard, or if a club is public, users can join from the front end with one simple click!

Club settings - Public, Private, or Secret

The club settings determine the method for users to join your chapters or groups.

Secret clubs

These are only visible and accessible to members who've been added to the club via the dashboard. Follow the steps below to add any club members via the dashboard.

Private clubs

These are only visible and accessible to members who've been added to the club via the dashboard. If you have an application form for prospective members to complete, you will still need to add those you accept via the dashboard. Follow the steps below to add any club members via the dashboard.

Public clubs

These are visible to all users, and members can join via the front end by selecting the 'Join Club' button, or registering for an event within the club. You can add members to public clubs via the dashboard as well.

Joining from the Club's landing page

Users can join public clubs from the main club landing page in the community. They will simply select 'Join Club', or register for an event within the club!

Users will receive an email confirmation of their membership in the club immediately.

Adding members via the dashboard

If you'd like to control who's added to the club, or add members in the back end, you will add them via the dashboard. Members added via the dashboard will not receive a welcome to the club email or any notification from Gradual.

Note: This is the only available option if the club is secret or private. You can add members to a public club via the dashboard as well.

One-by-one manually

You can add members to a club via the Members tab in the club's dashboard.

  1. Navigate to the main dashboard Club's tab, and select the chapter or interest group where you'd like to add members

  2. Select the Members tab once within the club dashboard

  3. Select + Add Club Member in the upper right

  4. Enter the member's email address

    1. The system will find the user, and allow you to add them, or ask you for the sign up questions (name, title and company) if the user is new to the community entirely.

  5. Select 'Next' to save your work

Note: Users will not be notified that they've been added to the club

Bulk import

If you'd like to import a list of users to a club, you can do so via a CSV template, or using the member segment lists you've built in your dashboard.

Note: Users will not be notified that they've been added to the club

You can follow an import CSV template to add users to a club.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Download the CSV template to ensure you have the correct column headers and mandatory fields to successfully upload all data.

  6. The import will start and the system will send you an email when the import is complete

    1. Existing members will be skipped during import
