Creating & setting up a quiz

You can create a quiz within a chapter as a knowledge check or as a standalone test at the end of your course.

  1. Navigate to the dashboard and to the Course where the quiz will be hosted

  2. Select Course content from the menu on the left, and select the +Add button

  3. Select Quiz

  4. Enter the quiz title and description (optional)

  5. After creating a new quiz, itโ€™s saved in the โ€œdraftโ€ status

Add questions to your quiz

You can add a variety of questions to your quiz that are multiple choice or text submissions.

  1. Select the +Question button in the upper right hand side

  2. Select the type of question you'd like to ask

    1. Single select: The user can only select one answer from a list of answers

    2. Multi select: The user can select multiple answers from a list of answers

    3. Short answer: The user will enter text to answer the question

    4. From existing questions: This allows you to duplicate/copy an existing question

  3. Create your question

    1. This rich-text editor allows you to add images, hyperlinks or videos to your quiz questions

  4. Add your answers in the Option 1, 2, 3, etc. fields

    1. You can delete answers and add options from this pop up

  5. Select the correct answer(s) by selecting the check box beside the answer in multi and single select questions, or type out all available answer options for the short text questions

  6. Save your work by selecting the 'Create' button

Reorder the questions

You can drag and drop the questions into your preferred order from this page as well.

Publish the quiz

When you've completed the quiz, you will select 'Actions' in the upper right-hand side, and select 'Complete Lesson'

Quiz options & settings

There are several options and settings for your quizzes. To make changes to these settings, select the 'Quiz Options' button in the upper right-hand side of the main Quiz page in the dashboard.

Passing score
Set the score needed for a user to pass the quiz

0-100%

Default: 100%

Number of attempts
Set the number of attempts a user can take to pass the quiz

- 1-10
- Unlimited (default)

Timer
Set a timer and duration for the user to complete the quiz

When turning it on,
The default is 10 min.

Range: 1-999 minutes

Shuffle questions
Randomize/shuffle the order of questions in the quiz for learners

For each time the user starts this quiz, display the questions in a random order.

Shuffle answer options
Randomize/shuffle the order of answer options in the questions

For each time the user opens a question, display its answer options in a random order.

Reveal Correct Answer
Offer to show the user the correct answers after they have completed the question

- Off (default)

For each time the user submits a final answer, display the right answers

Learning Settings

Within the course dashboard, you can also set the learning settings for course completion and learning order.

Course completion

Course Completion Criteria

Decide if the course is completed when the user completes all lessons, or only certain lessons. By default, it will be set to 'completes all lessons'.

Learner's final status format

Decide if the learner's final status appears as complete/incomplete, or passed/failed. By default it will be set to 'complete/incomplete'.

Learning order

Decide if the learner must complete the course in sequential order or in any order. By default it will be set to 'in any order'.


User's experience taking a quiz

The quiz appears within the course in your community, and the learner will be prompted with each question in sequence. The first screen in the quiz will show how many questions, the number of attempts the learner can take, and the passing score needed to complete the quiz.

Correct response

If the user selects the correct answer(s) the system will alert them and allow them to proceed.

Incorrect response

If the user selects the incorrect answer(s), the system will alert them and allow them to proceed.

Quiz results

Passes

If the user passes the quiz (dependent on the passing score) they will see a success screen. They will confirm their completion by selecting the 'Complete' button.

Does not pass

If the user does not pass the quiz (dependent on the passing score) they will see a fail screen. If you've alloted them multiple chances, they may see a 'Try again' button at the base of the screen.

Tracking Progress

Learners can see their progress from the course's page in the community and admins can see a user's progress from the Enrollees tab in the dashboard.
