Updated today

Feature Overview

The Club Page Customization feature allows club admins to create custom pages and customize their club’s navigation menu.

This feature is designed to give clubs more flexibility in how they present content, highlight key resources, and guide members through their club experience.

With this feature, club admins can:

  • Create up to 3 custom pages per club

  • Customize the in-club menu structure

  • Add internal features, custom pages, or external links to the menu

  • Control how visitors navigate and experience their club

  • Set a default landing page for visitors using either a custom page or a built-in club page

Who this is for:

  • Community admins (to enable/disable the feature)

  • Club admins (to configure pages and menus)

Feature Walkthrough

1. Enabling Club Page Customization (Community Admin)

This feature is controlled by a community-level feature flag.

To enable:

  1. Navigate to your community settings: Dashboard - Clubs - Club Settings - Club Autonomy

  2. Locate the Add new custom pages and customize the club menu feature flag

  3. Toggle the feature On

Important:

  • When turned Off, all club customization settings are disabled

  • Existing custom pages and menu configurations are preserved but not editable

  • You may see a warning listing impacted clubs before disabling

2. Accessing Club Customization Settings

Once enabled, community admins and club admins can access customization settings within their club dashboard.

This page includes:

  • In-club Menu

  • Landing Page

  • Custom Pages

Permissions:

  • Only community admins and club admins can edit these settings

  • All other roles will have read-only or no access

3. Customizing the Club Menu

Community admins and club admins can choose how their club navigation behaves by clicking the Setup button to the right of In-club Menu.

Menu Options

  • Follow Standard (Default)

    • Uses the community’s default club menu

  • No Menu

    • Displays a single-page layout (no navigation menu)

  • Custom Menu

    • Enables full customization of the club menu

Editing the Menu

When customizing the menu:

  • The Overview page is fixed at the top

  • Other items can be:

    • Reordered via drag-and-drop

    • Shown or hidden using visibility toggles

Adding Menu Items

You can add three types of menu items:

  1. In-club features

    • Select from enabled club features

    • Disabled features remain visible but cannot be used

  2. Custom pages

    • Link to pages created within the club

  3. External URLs

    • Must be within the community domain

    • Can be set to open in a new tab (default: enabled)

Validation rules:

  • Duplicate URLs are not allowed to be added

  • URLs must match the community domain

4. Creating and Managing Custom Pages

Each club can create up to 3 custom pages.

Landing Page setting

  • Club admins can set a default landing page for visitors from the Customization page. This setting is only available when club customization is enabled

  • The default landing page is Overview

  • Admins can choose either a custom page or a built-in club page

  • If a custom page is currently used as the landing page, it cannot be deleted or unpublished until a different landing page is selected

Custom Pages Settings

When creating a page:

  • The page URL is automatically scoped to the club

  • Visibility follows the club’s space permissions

Page Builder

Custom pages use a simplified version of Gradual’s page builder.

Available components:

  • Text

  • Image

  • Button

  • Card

  • Accordion

  • Divider

  • Vertical sections

  • Element groups

Layout behavior:

  • Content width is fixed to align with the club banner

  • A default section is pre-added when creating a new page

5. Display Behavior on the Frontend

How a custom page appears depends on menu settings:

  • Custom Menu disabled

    • Page displays without the club banner

  • Custom Menu enabled

    • If added to menu → shows with club banner

    • If not in menu → shows breadcrumb navigation

Visitor landing behavior

Clubs can set a default landing page for non-joined visitors.

  • Non-joined community members and non-logged-in visitors who open the club root URL are redirected to the selected landing page

  • Club members always land on the Overview page

  • If the selected landing page becomes unavailable (for example, the custom page is deleted, unpublished, space-restricted, or the selected built-in feature is disabled), visitors are redirected to the Overview page instead

  • If the selected landing page is the Club Members page, users without access are redirected to the Overview page

6. Managing Existing Menu & Pages

Community admins and club admins can:

  • Edit menu structure at any time

  • Add or remove menu items

  • Update page content using the page builder

  • Toggle visibility of menu items

Note:

  • Disabled features are visible in the settings but will not be displayed on the frontend

7. Permissions and Access Control

  • Only club admins can:

    • Customize menus

    • Create/edit custom pages

  • For private clubs:

    • Non-logged-in users cannot access custom pages

8. Additional Notes & Limitations

  • Maximum of 3 custom pages per club

  • Feature must be enabled at the community level

  • Menu customization is optional (clubs can use default)

  • If a custom page is set as the visitor landing page, it must be changed before that page can be deleted or unpublished

  • Some components available at the community level may not be available for clubs in custom page

Use Cases & Examples

Example 1: Resource Library

A club creates a Resource Library page to centralize important materials such as:

  • Onboarding guides

  • Best practices and customer stories

  • Downloadable documents

This page serves as an evergreen reference for members and can be added to the club menu for easy access.

Example 2: Knowledge Center

A club creates a Knowledge Center page to organize structured content, such as:

  • Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Tutorials and how-to guides

  • Categorized learning resources

Using components like Accordions and Cards, content can be grouped for easy navigation and discovery.

Best Practices

  • Keep menu items concise and focused

  • Use custom pages for evergreen content

  • Avoid overloading the menu with too many items

  • Ensure external links are relevant and maintained
