Community admins can now share community-level content and community-level events into selected clubs. Shared items continue to be managed from the community level, while appearing inside the clubs you choose.
This is helpful when your community homepage is not the main place members start. If members often enter through clubs, you can still make important community content and events visible there.
What this feature does
This feature lets you:
Share a community content item to one or more clubs
Share a community event to one or more clubs
Manage the original item in one place at the community level
Show shared items alongside club-created items inside club surfaces
Shared items are not duplicated. The original item remains the source of truth.
Who can use it
Community admins can share and manage community content and events across clubs.
Club collaborator can see shared community items in their club lists, but they cannot edit them from the club side.
Share a community item to clubs
You can share both content and events from the item’s detail page.
Open a community content item or community event.
Open the item actions menu.
Select Share with clubs.
In the configuration window, choose the clubs where the item should appear.
Select individual clubs or choose All clubs.
Save your changes.
After saving, the item will appear in the clubs you selected.
What you see when choosing clubs
When selecting clubs, Gradual shows useful details for each club so you can confirm you are sharing to the right place. This includes the club’s cover image, name, type, and access level.
How shared items appear in lists
Gradual updates list views so it is easier to understand where each item comes from.
In community content and event lists, the Club column becomes Origin.
The Origin column shows:
Community for standard community items
Community + shared indicator for community items shared to clubs
Club name for club items
Club name + promoted indicator for club items promoted to the community
These updates also apply to collaborator dashboard content and event lists.
Filter shared and promoted items
To make list management easier, content and event lists include scope filters for:
Community shared with clubs
Club promoted
These filters help admins quickly review which items are being distributed across clubs and which items were promoted upward from clubs.
How shared items appear inside clubs
Shared community items appear directly in the selected clubs’ content and event lists, mixed with club-created items.
When members browse a club, they can see the shared item there just like other club items, with a label showing that it is shared from the community when applicable.
This applies to:
Content list items
Content cards
Event cards
Event list items
Opening a shared item from a club
When someone opens a shared community item from a club surface, Gradual opens the item’s community-level detail page in a new browser tab.
This keeps the experience consistent and ensures the original item is always viewed from its primary source.
Editing permissions for shared items
Shared community items remain managed at the community level.
From the community admin dashboard:
Shared items are visible in club management views
Opening a shared item takes you to the original item in a new browser tab
From the club collaborator dashboard:
Shared community items are visible in lists
These items cannot be opened for editing
Club collaborator can bookmark them, but cannot change them
Visibility and access rules
Sharing an item to a club does not expand who can see it.
A member can view a shared item only when:
the item itself is visible to them, and
the club is also visible to them
This means sharing controls placement, not access. The original access settings still apply.
Stop sharing an item
You can remove a shared item from clubs at any time.
To stop sharing:
Open the community content item or event.
Open the actions menu.
Select Stop sharing with clubs.
You can also remove clubs from the shared clubs list. If all clubs are removed, the item will no longer be shared anywhere.
When sharing is removed:
the item is removed from the selected club surfaces
the original item remains unchanged
other clubs continue to show the item if they are still selected
What happens if the original item changes
Shared items follow the lifecycle of the original item.
If the original content or event is unpublished, archived, or deleted, it will stop appearing in all clubs where it had been shared.
Best ways to use this feature
This feature works well when you want to:
Share a community-wide announcement across multiple clubs
Show one event in several relevant clubs without recreating it
Keep important resources visible for members who mainly navigate through clubs
Maintain a single source of truth for updates and edits
Notes
Only community-level content and community-level events can be shared in this version
Shared items stay managed from the community level
Club collaborator can view shared items in their club lists, but cannot edit them
Sharing affects where an item appears, not who can access it
